Jan Lust
The pianist Jan Lust is currently researching his doctorate in the arts at the LUCA School of Arts of the University of Leuven, where he had previously gained a double Master’s diploma in piano and chamber music as well as a specialisation diploma in piano, studying under the American pianist Alan Weiss. He then spent a year as a scholarship student at the Rubin Academy of Music of the University of Tel Aviv in Israel, studying under Victor Derivianko. He also received valuable advice from Edith Picht-Axenfeld and Alexey Lubimov.

His doctoral research concerns the 19th century transcriptions for piano of organ works by J.S. Bach according to the traditions set by Franz Liszt and Ferruccio Busoni.

He has performed extensively as a soloist, chamber musician, accompanist and orchestral keyboard player in concerts throughout Europe.

He currently teaches piano at the Stedelijke Academie voor Muziek, Woord en Dans in Zottegem and at the Kunsthumaniora in Brussels.
