Together, Saskia Van Herzeele and Maarten Vandenbemden are Adentro: a young musical duo that combines the guitar and the piano. The surprising dialogue between their two instruments creates a poetic world of sound and touches the audience within. The duo met at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels, was inspired by Thomas Dieltjens, Dirk Vermeulen and Viviane Spanoghe and works intensively together with Wolfgang Heiremans. In January 2018, Duo Adentro was one of the three Flemish finalists of the chamber music competition “Supernova”. A few months later, in May 2018, they won the Competition for Chamber Music with Guitar at the Twents Guitar Festival.

Their first CD “Once upon a time…” (Etcetera Records) was launched in 2018 and told the story of their plunge in the world of guitar-piano-music. The album was nominated as one of the 10 Best Albums by Classical Guitar Magazine (USA).

Adentro performs concerts of original music for guitar and piano, but also refreshing arrangements of classical chamber music. The dreamy harmony of their ensemble inspires collaborations in the fields of musical theatre and social artistic projects. The duo has found a formula that fits them perfectly: intimate concert programmes with colourful (re)interpretations, always with new and surprising perspectives. They thus make each concert into a special event which, along with the audience, is experienced increasingly interiorly.
